Your music stays yours.

MusicHopper is made by Hzclab LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app accesses, what is sent off your device and why, and the choices you have.

What stays on your device

• Local media. When you give MusicHopper access to your music and video files (or a folder you choose), it reads them to list, search, and play them. File contents and names are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
• Playlists, recent searches, and settings. These are saved locally on your device only.
• Visualizer. The singing-bots visualizer analyzes the audio of the track you are playing, on your device.
• Cloud imports. If you choose to copy files from a cloud storage service (such as iCloud Drive) into MusicHopper, the files are downloaded by your device’s own file system from that service. We do not receive them.

What is sent off your device, and why

Music search

When you search for a song online, MusicHopper opens the music service you selected in Settings (in its app or website) with your search text, just as if you had typed it there yourself. From that point, the service’s own privacy policy applies. We do not receive your search text.

AI Assistant

When you ask the AI Assistant to identify a song, the text of your request is sent to our server, which forwards it to a third-party AI model provider to generate a suggestion. We do not store the content of your requests, and we do not use them for advertising or to build a profile of you. To prevent abuse, our server keeps a daily count of requests per IP address; this counter is deleted automatically within 24 hours. The AI provider processes your request under its own terms and privacy policy.

Trending chart

To show Trending Today, the app sends only the country you selected to our server, which returns publicly available chart data. No personal information is included.

Voice search

• iOS and macOS: speech is transcribed entirely on your device. The first time you use voice search, the app downloads a speech-recognition model file; after that, no audio ever leaves your device.
• Android: voice search uses your device’s built-in speech-recognition service (for example, Google’s). Depending on your device and settings, that service may process your audio on its servers under its own privacy policy. MusicHopper does not record or store your audio.

Our server’s infrastructure

Our server runs on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles standard connection data (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the service.

Permissions the app asks for

• Microphone: only for voice search, and only while you hold the mic button.
• Media / files: to find and play music and videos on your device.
• Notifications (Android): to show playback controls while music is playing.

You can turn any permission off at any time in your device’s settings. The rest of the app keeps working.

What we don’t do

• No user accounts or sign-in.
• No advertising, and no advertising or analytics SDKs.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data.
• No in-app purchases or payment data.

Children

MusicHopper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Because we don’t keep accounts or store your requests, there is generally no personal data held by us to access or delete. You can remove everything MusicHopper keeps on your device by deleting the app. If you have a privacy question or request, contact us and we will respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we change how MusicHopper handles data, we will update this page and its effective date.
